Hotel New Grand Yokohama is one of the city's oldest hotels, established in 1927.It consists two buildings, the main building established in 1927 and a tower building built in 1991 to expand capacity to over 260 rooms. Because of its location directly in front of Yamashita Park and Yokohama Bay, it affords not only a splendid view but also easy access to all parts of the city, including Chinatown. For decades, it was a favorite with visiting dignitaries, although more deluxe accommodations have now rivaled The New Grand and relegated it to second tier among Yokohama lodgings.
