I spent a few days in Shiba Park hotel while visiting some friends in Tokyo. I booked a small room and found this to be more than adequate. It didn't feel at all claustrophobic and I was happy to spend time in it. The location was excellent. It was in the business district but as I was there over a weekend it was quiet, and also quiet by night. There is a lovely temple close by and also coffee shops (Starbucks, etc) and restaurants. The hotel facilities were perfect for my needs (internet pcs, printers, etc). Overall it was excellent value for money. I would highly recomment this hotel.

Our group stayed in 4 rooms on 2 occasions this trip and again found the smell of cigarette smoke and on several occasions, cigar smoke, penetrated our rooms from smokers outside. if you cannot provide a nonsmoking floor then guests should be notified. although I requested a nonsmoking room, the room and fittings, including the bed clothes, smelt very stongly of stale cigarette smoke. As a nonsmoker I found this very offensive and disappointing.
