Shinagawa-ku - Shinagawa Station is one of Tokyo's busiest stations and Shinagawa-ku itself is known as a major transportation hub with direct train connections to Haneda and Narita Airport. The Shinagawa Station is surrounded by many office buildings, hotels, restaurants and shopping malls due to its connectivity to many parts of Tokyo. Aside from these modern contraptions, you can still see the cultural side of the city that has retained quite a number of minor temples and other historical sites that date back to the Edo period. A must-visit place is the Ebara Shrine that is located long the former Tokaido road that connects the city to Kyoto. There is also an interesting museum located south-west of the station, the Hara Museum that houses a healthy selection of contemporary art.
